If you are an analytics or data science professional seeking to engage with like-minded business professionals and academic researchers/educators, then please consider attending the 2017 Pre-ICIS SIGDSA Symposium! The Symposium is being co-located with the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) – the premier worldwide information systems conference for academics and CIOs. The symposium will take place on the first day of the ICIS conference, i.e., December 10th, 2017 (Sunday). There will be paper presentations, panels, tutorials, networking, and an exciting keynote.
Industry collaborators are encouraged to co-author submissions for the Research or Teaching Track with academic colleagues. If there are any questions about the suitability of such a joint submission, please don’t hesitate to e-mail a member of the symposium program committee. We also hope to engage industry participants as panel members for discussing relevant and exciting topics relevant to the symposium theme. Last, but not least, we also invite contributions from industry partners as paper reviewers and discussants. If you are interested in either of these roles, please contact the Symposium Co-Chairs or the Industry Track Chair.
We believe that strong industry involvement is critical for the success of the Pre-ICIS SIGDSA symposium. Academics can expect many opportunities to work with industry participants, such as during industry sessions, keynote talks, research and teaching tracks, and the many networking opportunities throughout the event.
While academic attendees will most likely attend the ICIS conference simultaneously with the Pre-ICIS SIGDSA symposium, many of our industry collaborators will be attending only the Pre-ICIS SIGDSA symposium. Special registration rates are available for industry participants either through pre-registration or at the day of the event, space allowing.
